Mr. Buck graduated from Ellsworth High school in 1916, Ellsworth, WisconsiMr. Buck graduated from Ellsworth High school in 1916, Ellsworth, Wisconsin. Since Mr. Buck took a teaching course as a senior in high school, he was certified to teach in rural schools in Wisconsin, He taught in rural schools for 1½ years before enlisting in the United States Army during World War I. He was honorably discharged. He then attended River Falls Normal School, River Falls, Wisconsin where he graduated in 1920 with a Teacher’s Certificate. This allowed him to teach in any school in Wisconsin. In the fall of 1920, he became a teacher and coach in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. In 1921, he taught in Rudolph, Wisconsin for five years. During the 1926-1927 school year, he attended the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis where he completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in September 1927. Then, he taught and coached in Marble, Minnesota from 1927-1930. In the fall of 1930, he accepted the position of superintendent at Adrian, Minnesota. In 1933, he became superintendent at Clarissa, Minnesota where he also coached basketball and football and taught algebra. He earned his Master of Arts Degree in Education in 1943 from ??.
In 1946, Mr. Buck accepted the superintendent position at Nevis. During hIn 1946, Mr. Buck accepted the superintendent position at Nevis. During his tenure, Mr. Buck was successful in passing the referendum for the Nevis original gym. The referendum was for $135,000 to build the gym and locker rooms.

In 1962, he decided to teach again. He accepted a science teaching position at Ruthven, Iowa for one year until he “retired”. After moving back to Clarissa, Minnesota for relaxation during his retirement, the Clarissa School Board convinced him to return as interim superintendent for one year as they looked for a permanent replacement. Finally, in 1964, he retired to the great outdoors and his family. He passed away in June 1990 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in River Falls, Wisconsin.
