Mann, 72, of Santa Monica Calif., died suddenly Friday morning at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. Josie Morse, on South street, in a heart attack. Mr. Mann had stopped at the Morse home for a visit en route to New York. He was found lifeless on the lawn of the Morse home shortly after he had left the house.
Mr. Mann was born in Mason township on Jan. 3, 1870, the son of George aMr. Mann was born in Mason township on Jan. 3, 1870, the son of George and Jane Mann. He spent the early part of his life in Cass county and Cassopolis, working here in a grocery. He left here 45 years ago for Santa Monica, where he had lived since.

Mann Abijah Rogers [Male] b. 3 MAY 1792 Dummerston, Windham Co. VT. - d. NOV 1859 Weymouth, Medina Co. OH.

Some of the information about Abijah And Betsy Graham, their ancestors, siblings and their eight children was researched and sent to me by Sylvia Seymour. Her husband is the 2nd. gr. son of Lewis Ransom Mann, one of Abijah's and Betsy's children. He came to Medina Co. OH. in 1816 ( from Lewis MANN's obit.). Information about the Mann family was also sent to me by Alice Walcheck, a descendant of Lewis R. Mann.

In the book "History of Dover, Vermont; 200 Years in a Hill Town" by NeIn the book "History of Dover, Vermont; 200 Years in a Hill Town" by Nell M. Kull, Abijah is mentioned on pages 141 & 142 concerning his departure from Vermont and his arrival in OH.

Abijah married Anna in Dummerston, Windham Co. VT, in 1812 and moved to MeAbijah married Anna in Dummerston, Windham Co. VT, in 1812 and moved to Medina OH about 1816, where she died in 1825. Later that year (1825), he married Anna's sister, Betsey. They had 9 children. He was the builder of the Weymouth Congregational Church. Anna and Betsey's parents, Lemuel and Eunice Burnham Graham, are buried in Weymouth Cemetery near Abijah.

James is mentioned in "History of Dummerston, VT." by David Lufkin, 1884. It says he was referred to as Elder James Mann although he was not a licensed preacher. His children's names are listed in the article.

In the book "History Of Dover, Vermont; 200 years in a Hill Town," on paIn the book "History Of Dover, Vermont; 200 years in a Hill Town," on page 183 in the appendix, it says that James Mann was the East Dover Baptist Minister in 1830 & 1831.

He was not licensed, but often preached in the Baptist churches in the vicinity of his home for several years. He was called Elder Mann . He was a taxpayer in Dummerston , 1802 . He moved to Dover, Vermont , in 1813 and died there February 11, 1854 . He married September 3, 1789 , 2140 at Dummerston , Anna Rogers , supposed to be a descendant of John Rogers , of revolutionary fame, born at Guilford, Vermont , died at Dover , March 6, 1844 . Children, born at Dummerston : 1. James , July 13, 1790 ; died October 6, 1876 ; had Gilbert Hosea , September 28, 1838 , resides at Zoar, Massachusetts . 2. Abijah , May 3, 1792 ; died in Ohio . 3. George , December 11, 1793 ; died in Sullivan, Ohio , November 22, 1862 . 4. Betsey , August 28, 1796 ; died in Ohio . 5. Sally , September 4, 1798 . 6. Hosea , mentioned below. 7.
