Her life began Jan 22, 1901 in Broomfield Township, Isabella County, Michigan, the daughter of Egbert and Ora (Smith) Galer. She went to the Broomfield Center School, before attending High school in Remus.
Mildred received a rural teaching certificate from Central Michigan NormMildred received a rural teaching certificate from Central Michigan Normal in 1920. She taught school in the Weidman area, Win and the Hatfield School.
On June 6, 1923, she married Carleton K. Hatfield. They moved to PlainwelOn June 6, 1923, she married Carleton K. Hatfield. They moved to Plainwell, MI in 1925, returning to Remus in 1930, where they lived and operated the Centennial Hatfield Jersey Farms until retirement. They had a love of travel and were in 48 of the 50 states. Much travel pertained to their Registered Jersey herd and association with the National Jersey Cattle Club. She was Inducted into the Michigan Farmers Hall of Fame in 1994.
Her family includes three children and spouses, Donald (Edna) HatfieHer family includes three children and spouses, Donald (Edna) Hatfield of Remus, Lucille Schiffer of Plainwell and Robert (Pat) Hatfield of Morgantown, W.Va.: 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; Eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a sister, Eva SnideMildred was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a sister, Eva Snider; and brother, Russell Galer.
Funeral services will take place 2 p.m. today (Monday March 24) at the DagFuneral services will take place 2 p.m. today (Monday March 24) at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor James Noggle officiating. Burial will be In Wambold Cemetery in Remus. Memorial gifts in Mildred’s name may be made to the Wheatland Township Library.

Fronk O. Kruger, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Kessington cemetery near Adamsville.

Besides his widow, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Ray Jones of Edwardsburg; his son, Lloyd of Dowagiac; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence of Ka;Kalamazoo; and a sister, Mrs. Cora Hodgson of Vandalia. THree brothers preceded him in death.

Passed away Saturday evening. Mr. Keeley was born February 22, 1880, in CPassed away Saturday evening. Mr. Keeley was born February 22, 1880, in Cass Co., MIch., the son of Andrew and Emily Keeley and had been a resident of Kalamazoo for 40 years. He was employed by the K. V. P. Company for 35 years, retiring seven years ago. Surviving are his wife, Emma; three sons and two daughters, Claude of Bloomingdale, Leslie of Portage, Cecil of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Lorenna Austin of Kalkaska and Miss Isabelle Kelley at home; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. A grandson, Donald Keeley, preceded him in death in 1949. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Cora Hodgeson of Vandalia, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Langeland Memorial Chapel, Rev. Richard H. Beckett officiating. Internment, Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel.
