TRAVERSE CITY - Bernice C. Churchill Huntington, 89, of Traverse Cit TRAVERSE CITY - Bernice C. Churchill Huntington, 89, of Traverse City, formerly of Bear Lake, died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at the Munson Hospice House in Traverse City. Bernice was born May 2, 1916.
Bernice had worked at the Glen of Michigan in Manistee when she w Bernice had worked at the Glen of Michigan in Manistee when she was younger. Later she worked as a nurse's aid at the Manistee County Medical Care Facility in Manistee and at Memorial Hospital in Onekam
Bernice was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Ph Bernice was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Phoenix and attended the First Congregational Church U.C.C. in Onekama. She was a past member of the Sweet Adelines in Manistee.
Bernice was an excellent cook who enjoyed reading, and most of al Bernice was an excellent cook who enjoyed reading, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Bernice is survived by five children, Marilyn Hilliard of Kaleva, Ka Bernice is survived by five children, Marilyn Hilliard of Kaleva, Kathleen (Robert) Kiefer of Arcadia, Ward Ronald (Ruth) Churchill of Clarksville, Tenn., Linda (David) Holzworth of Traverse City and Randolph Churchill of Mancelona; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband, Ward Churchi Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband, Ward Churchill in 1978; second husband, Ray Huntington in 1988; parents, Charles and Edith Hughes; and brother, Kenneth Hughes.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m Visitation will be held Monday, June 20, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at 2:30 p.m., also at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Jasperse officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Bear Lake.
