Cassopolis, Feb. 3---Mrs. Lillie Lybarker, 72, died Thursday at her hoCassopolis, Feb. 3---Mrs. Lillie Lybarker, 72, died Thursday at her home in Mason township.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Keith Goss at 2 p. m. SatuFuneral services will be conducted by the Rev. Keith Goss at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Mason Baptist church with burial in the Adamsville cemetery.
Mrs. Lybarker was born in Cass county in 1877, the daughter of Thomas aMrs. Lybarker was born in Cass county in 1877, the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Parker. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Darrien, Mason township; Mrs. Gordon Leich, Dowagiac, and Mrs. Elwood Hunt, Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Schreyer, Dowagiac, and Mrs. Carrie Shetterly, Cassopolis.

Officer Fred Buhland was also on the police department for only one monOfficer Fred Buhland was also on the police department for only one month when he was shot and killed. Officer Buhland and his partner were patrolling their beat when they came across two intoxicated subjects who had just shot at one another. Both of these subjects were placed under arrest. As a Sergeant was removing a gun from one of the suspects, the suspect broke free, removed a small gun from his back pocket, and shot Officer Buhland. The suspect then ran from the scene. An arrest was never made and the suspect has never been identified.

Patrolman Buhland was shot and killed after he and several other officePatrolman Buhland was shot and killed after he and several other officers were investigating shots fired. Upon their arrival, they found two intoxicated men holding guns. The guns were confiscated and the men arrested, but not searched, when one man ran from the officers. While fleeing, the man produced another gun, fired several shots and struck Patrolman Buhland twice, killing him. The suspect fled the scene and was never identified or apprehended.

The funeral of Fred E. Buhland, 632 1/2 Portage avenue, the member of tThe funeral of Fred E. Buhland, 632 1/2 Portage avenue, the member of the South Bend police force, who was shot to death Monday night, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the English Lutheran church, instead of this afternoon as was previously announced. Rev. A. H. Keck will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Fannie Bramlett of Lapwai, Idaho, who was visiting her sister, MrMrs. Fannie Bramlett of Lapwai, Idaho, who was visiting her sister, Mrs. W. T. Wooten, for several weeks, died very suddenly Sunday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock. She had been in her usual health, and on Saturday seemed to be feeling better than usual until late that night when she suffered a stroke of paralysis. She was immediately take to the Brining Hospital, and her children were summoned from Idaho, but she did not regain consciousness before the end.
Funeral Services were held from the Brower & Wann funeral home at LewistoFuneral Services were held from the Brower & Wann funeral home at Lewiston, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
Fannie Andrus, eldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. N. Andrus, was born near CaFannie Andrus, eldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. N. Andrus, was born near Camby, Oregon, 66 years ago. In the early eighties, the family moved to Dayton, and the children grew up there. Following her marriage to John Bramlett, Mrs. Bramlett continued to live in this community for several years, then moved to Oakesdale. The Bramletts later went to Summit, Idaho, then to Lapwai, which was their home for more than 30 years. Mr. Bramlett died about a year and a half ago, and one daughter preceded Mrs. Bramlett in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lou Messersmith, Lapwai, and Mrs. ArthSurviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lou Messersmith, Lapwai, and Mrs. Arthur Springer, Genessee, Idaho and five grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Charles Andrus, Walla Walla, and five sisters, Mrs. Fred Prescott, Spokane, Mrs. D. Ferguson, Seattle, Mrs. John Neill, Burbank, California, Mrs. Frank P. Lint, Clarkston, and Mrs. W. T. Wooten, Dayton.
During Mrs. Bramletts residence in Lapwai, she was affiliated with the PreDuring Mrs. Bramletts residence in Lapwai, she was affiliated with the Presbyterian church, and was an earnest worker in the women's organizations.

They had seven children, of whom the following survive: Alva Andrus of Gaston, Orvai Andrus of Monmouth, Mrs. Eloise Miller of Gaston, Nelson Andrus of Roseburg, Mrs. J. A. Wakefield of Dayton and Mrs. Myrtle Thomas of Portland. Mrs. Andrus had been a member of the Christian church for more than 40 years. They came to Dayton from Roseburg in 1905. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. L. G. Parks. Burial was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. ANDRUS----Nelson, 90, of Roseburg, died June 28, 1970, at a Roseburg NursiANDRUS----Nelson, 90, of Roseburg, died June 28, 1970, at a Roseburg Nursing Home. Born Aug. 1, 1879, at Oaksdale, Wash. Married Feb. 2, 1911, at Lookingglass, to Jennie Mae Hart, who preceded him in death in 1952. He had lived in this community most of his life, and had retired from farming. He was a charter member of the Roseburg Assembly of God Church. Survivors are 4 sons, Arthur and Floyd, Roseburg, Ivan, Eugene, Rev. Kenneth, of Emmonak, Alaska: 2 daughters, Violet Burgess, Beaverton, Zerita Rose, Springfield: one sister, Flora Wakefield, Dayton; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grand children; a daughter, Hazel Adams, preceded him in death in 1948. Funeral services will be held Wed. at 1 p. m., at the Long and Shukle Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Howard Flaherty, of the Assembly of God Church officiating. Internment will follow at Lookingglass Cemetery.
